Chilean cab franc that shows what hot-weather cab franc can be with a focus on accentuating its tertiary qualities. This ruby-to-garnet colored cabernet franc has an aromatic nose of blackberry, red cherry, raspberry, eucalyptus, and clove baking spice. On the attack, ripe and grippy tannin makes itself known on your palate followed by medium acidity that rides on top of the predominately-black-fruit-oriented wine that also tastes of violet and black plum. The cabernet franc has a velvety texture as though running your tongue against rather than with the grain – an overall pleasing sensation that combines velvety softness with structure. The medium-plus bodied wine displays fine mid-palate complexity completing with a medium-plus finish. Suggest to decant this for an hour to enhance the aromatics and extenuate the flavor complexity.
